Don't Forget the Carrier Oil

Carrier oils, also known as base oils, are used to dilute essential oils before applying them to the skin. They are called "carrier oils" because they "carry" the essential oil onto the skin. They are used to dilute essential oils because essential oils are highly concentrated and can be too strong to apply directly to the skin. Carrier oils also provide their own set of benefits to the skin, such as moisturizing and nourishing properties. They are also used to make massage oils, lotions, and other beauty products.


Below is a break down of the carrier oils I use in my products;

Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil-The oil is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors. It also has a high concentration of vitamins, minerals and zinc, which can help to nourish and moisturize the skin.


Organic Jojoba Oil-rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E and B-complex vitamins, which can help to nourish and protect the skin. It also contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that can help to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors.

One of the key benefits of jojoba oil is its ability to balance the skin's natural oil production, which can help to reduce the appearance of blemishes and breakouts. It's also non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn't clog pores and can be used for all skin types.


Rosehip Carrier oil-rich in vitamins A and C, which can help to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and give the skin a more youthful appearance. It also contains antioxidants that can help to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors.

Rosehip oil is also known to be beneficial for treating a variety of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, and psoriasis, due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help to reduce the appearance of scars and hyperpigmentation.


Camellia Carrier Oil-rich in antioxidants, including Vitamin E and Polyphenols, which can help to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors. It is also rich in oleic acid (Omega 9) and linoleic acid (Omega 6) which can help to moisturize and nourish the skin, making it a good choice for dry or mature skin.
